Festa Italiana at Market Common Back for 25th Year
Courtney Martin | 11 Jun 2017
For the last 25 years, the Sons & Daughters of Italy- Myrtle Beach chapter have hosted a fun-filled Italian Festival along the Grand Strand. In recent years, the event has found a home in the Market Common, Myrtle Beach's upscale, luxury shopping and dining district. This year, on June 24 and 25, get ready to enjoy some of the greatest aspects of Italian culture when you attend the 25th Annual Festa Italiana!
All of the excitement begins on Saturday, June 24, at 11am, when gates open for the admission price of just $1. Explore the grounds of the Market Common as you stroll between booths set up to represent various characteristics of everything Italian. Located just a couple of miles away from the ocean, take a break from your beach day and visit this yearly festival that keeps visitors coming back year-after-year.
Italy is well-known for its scrumptious flavors, from antipasto to wine, and you can get a real, authentic taste of the boot-shaped country when you stop by Festa Italiana. From 11am - 8pm on Saturday, and from 12pm - 7pm on Sunday, enjoy sausage and pepper sandwiches, meatball heroes, Neapolitan style pizza, chicken parmesan, and ravioli. Homemade Italian desserts: cannoli, zeppoli (fried dough), Italian ices, biscotti, and assorted Italian cookies. You will also find an array of soft drinks, beers, and Italian wines.
Beyond foods and drinks, don't miss out on the continuous live entertainment, Italian arts & crafts vendors, an Italian-themed boutique for souvenirs and gifts, free face painting, and plenty of kids activities to keep the entire family happy. Are you a big fan of pasta? Perhaps you should sign up for the spaghetti-eating contest! Don't worry though, if that's a little too intense, you'll still have the opportunity to win great prizes throughout the day. Admission is only $1, so make the most of your Myrtle Beach vacation rental by bringing the entire family out to Market Common on June 24 and 25 for Festa Italiana.
